Wood carved (monoxylous-made from a single piece of wood) bed with human head detail, Tabwa people, Zaire, (formerly the Democratic Republic of Congo). Africa, 20th century, 60" long x 13" wide x 8" tall.
A prestige item most likely commisioned by the owner, usually an important personage of the village (possibly a chiefian).
