Faviidae coral specimen. Commonly referred to as "brain" coral is a type of stony coral named after its unusual appearance and shape similar to that of a brain. This rare and uncommonly large old specimen was acquired in the Philippines from a private collection and acquired in the 1960's from the Sulu Sea in the southern part of the Archipelago. Rare size measures an irregular 21" x 13" x 23".
